69-Year-Old Father of Seven Found Shot to Death

"For somebody to do this to him; that is a cold-blooded killer," the victim's daughter said.

A 69-year-old man was found dead with a gunshot to the back of his head in his San Bernardino home Wednesday night.

Police responded to a call regarding the killing of a man in the 1800 block of Danny Street at 9:45 p.m. Police identified the person killed as John Griffin.

"My daddy was my heart," said his daughter, Myisha Griffin.

Myisha Griffin said her cousin was asleep in the residence when he heard a loud bang in the middle of the night. She said the cousin found Griffin unresponsive and the door wide open.

"For somebody to do this to him; that is a coldblooded killer," Myisha Griffin said.

Griffin was the father of seven children and "many grandchildren." He enjoyed spending his free time helping others, especially kids in his neighborhood.

"He did a lot of food giveaways, Christmas giveaways," Myisha Griffin said.
