Freeway Shut Down to Land Helicopter on Lanes Amid Holiday Traffic

Lanes on the eastbound 91 Freeway were shut down to accommodate a rescue helicopter Tuesday night after a motorcycle crash, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Traffic was already a mess due to the pending Thanksgiving holiday, but the freeway closure worsened the issue.

A SigAlert was issued at 7 p.m. at the Green River Road exit on the eastbound 91 Freeway.

The motorcyclist was airlifted to the hospital after the chopper landed on freeway lanes.

Two lanes were to remain closed until 8 p.m., according to CHP.
