Art cars? Creatively decorated vehicles? On-the-move pieces that can give a pedestrian walking along a roadside the opportunity to stop and watch? There have been many over the decades, but few likely will live up to a Casspir covered in 70,000,000 bright beads.
But such a unlikely and stunning artwork does exist, and it will call upon the Arts District on Sunday morning, Feb. 3. Ralph Ziman is the LA-based artist behind the bead-covered South African Casspir military vehicle, which will roll into the arts-oriented neighborhood just a few days ahead of the Feb. 7 opening of Mr. Ziman's "The Casspir Project" at The Rendon Gallery.
