Students at an elementary school in Adelanto were temporarily evacuated Thursday after reports of a gas leak, fire officials said.
Firefighters responded to reports of a gas leak shortly after 9 a.m. at Donald F. Bradach Elementary School located in the 15000 block of Bellflower Street, according to the San Bernardino County Fire Department.
Over 50 juveniles and staff exhibited symptoms consistent with a gas leak such as headaches and nausea, however no one was transported to a hospital, San Bernardino County Fire tweeted.
A gas leak had not been detected as of 11:10 a.m., fire officials said.
Students were allowed back into their classrooms after Southwest Gas officials deemed the site safe, according to the Adelanto Elementary School District.
Southwest Gas remained on scene during the investigation.
