3-Year-Old From Simi Valley Found Safe Following Amber Alert

A 3-year-old was found safe minutes after an Amber Alert was issued Sunday evening.

An Amber Alert was issued around 7:30 p.m. Sunday after the boy was taken earlier in the day, around 12:30 p.m.

Police believed 31-year-old Anthony "Tony" Giarraputo took his 3-year-old son Jaden following a "domestic dispute" in which the child's mother was assaulted.

The Amber Alert reported that Jaden was possibly with his father in a blue KIA SUV.

Minutes later, police sent an update stating that the boy and his father were located Sunday evening.

Jaden was found in Simi Valley with family and his father Anthony was located "somewhere in Ventura County," according to the Simi Valley Police Department.

After speaking to Giarraputo by phone, officers believed that he was a danger to himself and his son because police thought the boy was with his father. However, it was later discovered that Giarraputo had dropped Jaden off at the home of a family member earlier that day. When they saw the Amber Alert, they called police to let them know Jaden was safe.
