Watch: Doughnut Shop Robber Realizes He Forgot to Pull Up His Mask

The robber in a bright orange safety vest was armed with a silver handgun in two Anaheim heists that occurred within 30 minutes

An armed robber in a bright orange safety vest was caught on camera at a doughnut shop, one of two similar back-to-back heists in Anaheim.

Anaheim police Wednesday released still images and video of the robberies, which happened Tuesday within about 30 minutes. The videos show him flashing a silver handgun at an employee before leaving the businesses with cash-laden register drawers.

In one of the robberies, the man's face can be seen on security camera video before he pulls up a mask to cover it.

The first robbery occurred just before 4 a.m. at Winchell's Donuts at 901 S. Euclid St., said Anaheim police Sgt. Daron Wyatt. About 20 minutes later, the gunman hit Vandy's Donuts at 1007 N. Euclid St., Wyatt said.

Investigators suspect he also robbed a business in Los Angeles County.

The suspect was described as a black man in his 40s to 50s with an average build and a thin, black goatee. He was clad in black pants, a black hoodie , an orange construction vest and white Nike shoes, and fled in a dark-colored, possibly green, 2000-2003 Mercedes-Benz ML350 with paper license plates, according to police.

Anyone with information was asked to call Orange County Crime Stoppers, which will accept anonymous tips, at (855) TIP-OCCS.
