Tuesday's 15 to 25 mph winds will become offshore winds on Wednesday, the day of an expected warmup in the SoCal area that may lead into Thursday. Temperatures are forecast in the low to mid 80s for Wednesday.

“It’ll feel like a different season altogether,” said NBC4 News forecaster Fritz Coleman.

Several SigAlerts were issued Monday during the morning drive, which included crashes that slowed traffic on the 405 Freeway near Mulholland, as well as on Wilshire Blvd., the 170 Freeway near Roscoe and other locations.

There were about 80 accidents reported on freeways in LA County between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. During that same period two weeks ago, when conditions were dry, 47 accidents were reported.

Last Monday was not statistically comparable because it coincided with the Marthin Luther King Jr. holiday.
