Los Feliz Home Occupant Turns Self In for Arson

Firefightes protected nearby homes from the fire near Griffith Park

The occupant of a Los Feliz home that went up in flames turned himself in for arson Friday, fire officials said.

Siregan Barsegian, a 62-year-old Hollywood resident, turned himself into the Los Angeles Police Department Hollywood Station hours after his home went up in flames, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The fire was reported at about 7 a.m. in the 4400 block of Dundee Drive (map). Aerial video showed firefighters on the roof of the three-story house, located just south of Griffith Park near the Vermont Avenue entrance to the Greek Theatre area.

Fire officials declared a knockdown 25 minutes later.

The motive for the fire is still under investigation, but the home may be the subject of a family dispute, fire officials said.

No injuries were reported in the blaze, and firefighters protected nearby house.

It was not clear how the fire was started.
