Armed Man Steals $8K From Chain Restaurant in Monrovia

Kitchen hours were closed and employees were closing up when the alleged robbery took place.

About $8,000 cash was stolen after a man wearing a ski mask held a manager at gunpoint at a Claim Jumper restaurant in the San Gabriel Valley Monday night.

The holdup occurred at about 11:50 p.m. at the Claim Jumper located at 820 W. Huntington Drive, according to the Monrovia Police Department.

Monrovia police and the California Highway Patrol set up a perimeter around the restaurant, evacuated employees and conducted a search of the building, but no one was found inside.

The kitchen was closed and employees were closing up at the time of the heist.

No one was injured.
