Two armed robbers dressed in neon vests tied up a father inside his North Hollywood home after forcing their way inside, police said.
The two robbers, who were brandishing handguns, broke into the house on the 6600 block of Gentry Street at around 10:25 p.m, Thursday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
After tying him up, the thieves took $3,000, jewelry, an iPad and iPhones, police said. The home invasion happened right across the street from a small day care center.
The husband, his wife and their two children were not hurt, but the family is afraid.
"(I'm) shook up, worried about my nieces," said a woman who identified herself as a relative. "No mask, nothing. They're just willing to come in and do that."
The woman said the two men were wearing neon vests that looked like something a construction worker would wear.
"It just looks like, "Oh, you know, a couple of guys came to fix something at their house," she said. "I just want people to be aware and watch out for that."
Police said the men left in a dark sedan.
