5-Year-Old Girl, 3 Men Shot in Vermont Square Park

Police said at least 10 shots were fired.

At least four people were shot, including a 5-year-old girl in the back, at Vermont Square Park, authorities said Tuesday.

The shooting occurred at approximately 8 p.m. near the intersection of 47th Street and Raymond Avenue in the Vermont Square Park, which is located southwest of Exposition Park, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

A vehicle traveling westbound shot at the victims, who were in Vermont Square Park, the Los Angeles Police Department said. 

At least four people were taken to the hospital with injuries, the LAFD said, with four ambulances used to transport the four patients.

A 5-year-old girl was shot in the back and an adult was shot in the hip, with another shooting reported a couple blocks over near the intersection of 47th Street and Kansas Avenue, according to the LAPD.

The 5-year-old girl was in stable condition, police said. Three adults were injured, including one person critically injured, according to the LAPD.

Police said at least 10 shots were fired.

There was no description of the shooter, and the shooter's vehicle was described as a black SUV or dark sedan. No one was in custody, police said.
