Authorities continued their underwater search Monday for a second victim after identifying the 52-year-old man who died in what appeared to be a boating accident at Pyramid Lake.

Rick Tanovan of West Covina was pulled from the lake north of Castaic on Sunday about 100 feet away from where responding deputies found the bow of a boat sticking up out of the water. The 52-year-old could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials said Tanovan had no signs of physical trauma and that it appeared he drowned. An official cause of death is pending an autopsy.
Tanovan was with a friend when he arrived at the lake Sunday morning, investigators said.
Underwater robotics equipment, a sonar boat, a cadaver dog and a helicopter was being used in the search for the man as divers searched through tough conditions.
"The waters they are searching are really murky, there's a lot of weeds and things like that," A Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputy said. "Plus the altitude. The divers can only stay down for a certain length of time and then they have to take a break."

The capsized boat was towed to shore Monday afternoon. Investigators said it showed no signs of being in a collision.
The search for the man was expected to last all day Monday.
"We'll search until it darkens and probably resume tomorrow if that's what it takes," the deputy said.
Pyramid Lake is a boating location and water storage facility off the 5 Freeway, about 60 miles north of the Los Angeles Civic Center.
