The driver of a Ford Focus in a high-speed pursuit was arrested Tuesday after he crashed when police spun out the car.
The nearly hourlong pursuit began when Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies tried to pull the car over in the Lakewood area for reckless driving, but the driver hit the gas.
The chase hit speeds up to 80 mph near Compton, the man behind the wheel looking relaxed. At one point he appeared to be smoking a cigarette. The driver made U-turns, drove in opposing lanes of traffic and even did doughnuts. It ended when police spun out the car.
The man threw his hands in the air and got face down on the ground. No one was hurt during the pursuit.
