A big-rig crashed through the center divider on the Ventura (101) Freeway Saturday afternoon, blocking traffic lanes in both directions in Calabasas.
The California Highway Patrol reported on its website that the truck had crashed at about 2:30 p.m. All lanes were reopened by 10 p.m.
Traffic was backed up for miles for hours on a day that saw extreme heat in the San Fernando Valley.
Injuries were reported from the crash, and it appeared that only the driver was hurt. The extent of his or her injuries was not known, CHP Officer Tatiana Sauquillo said.
The driver, who was hauling cabbage, appeared to have lost control, she said.
The crash occurred on the eastbound freeway east of Los Virgenes Road (map), but lanes on the westbound side were also blocked where the truck's cab had crashed through onto opposing lanes, the CHP said.

Sauquillo said just before 4 p.m. that the No. 1 lane on the westbound side was blocked, and the No. 1 and No. 2 lanes were blocked on the eastbound side.
About 20 feet of the center divider were damaged, she added.
