Thursday's morning commute -- already plagued by wet weather -- went from bad to worse after a flatbed truck carrying pallets overturned just east of downtown, snarling freeway traffic for miles in all directions.
The crash happened around 7:45 a.m. on the connector from the eastbound 10 Freeway to the 5 Freeway (map).
It is unclear if the crash was weather related, although the road was wet and speed was likely a factor, said CHP Officer Ed Jacobs.
By 9:20 a.m., a tow truck was at the scene. By late morning, traffic appeared to be returning to normal levels.
