Big Rig Crashes Snarl Morning Commute in Pasadena

3 big rigs crashed on the Foothill Freeway near the Ventura Freeway on Friday, snarling traffic

The morning commute slowed to a crawl in Pasadena on Friday morning as crews worked to clear debris from an early-morning crash involving three big rigs.

No one was injured in the 2:25 a.m. crash that closed the westbound Foothill Freeway transition road at the Ventura Freeway split in Pasadena, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The transition roads were expected to remain closed until 9 a.m.

The wreckage, including diesel fuel, was spread over at least one-quarter of a mile, a news photographer reported from the scene. The connector road from the eastbound 134 to the westbound 210 was also closed as a result of the wreck, according to the CHP.

It was unclear if wet conditions were a factor in the crash.
