Body Found By Hiker in Angeles National Forest

Deputies said it is possible the person could be the victim of flash flooding.

A body was found along the riverbed in the Angeles National Forest Saturday, officials said.

A hiker found the body on Prairie Fork Road in the Heaton Flats area just south of the Bridge to Nowhere, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department's San Dimas Station.

The body was found under debris and mud, deputies said. An air squad worked to extricate the body Sunday morning.

Deputies said it is possible the person could be the victim of flash flooding.

An investigation was underway to determine if the body is that of a hiker reported missing in the area.

No further details were immediately available.
