Body Found at Topanga State Park Ignites Investigation

A hiker discovered a body in Topanga State Park along a trail Monday, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed.

The call came in at 4 p.m. near 20800 Entrada Road. The body was that of a woman, but police have not been able to confirm whether or not it is the same woman for whom a missing person's report was filed after she went missing Sunday around 10 a.m.

"It could be connected to the missing person in that we found the missing person's car in the immediate area and the missing person was last seen hiking in this area," Los Angeles Police Department Lt. John Radtke said.

Police say they discovered no signs of assault or foul play.

"There appears that there was no crime here tonight," Radtke said.
