Body of Woman Found in Mid-City Identified

Police found the beaten body of a woman in a driveway in Mid-City on Thursday

Authorities identified a woman whose body was discovered by her husband in the driveway of their home in the Mid-City area of Los Angeles as Anita Henderson, 51.

She was found dead about 5 p.m. Thursday in the 2100 block of South Redondo Boulevard, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

She suffered “apparent head trauma,” police said.

Homicide investigators had neither a suspect nor a motive, but said they found signs of a struggle inside the home.

It did not appear that any valuables had been taken from inside home and it didn’t appear anyone had broken in, said LAPD Detective Mark Morgan.

Henderson's husband reported finding her body upon returning home, Officer Sara Faden of the LAPD's Media Relations Section said.

Detectives were looking for help to find witnesses and clues from residents or business owners and were seeking whether there were any cameras that might have recorded what went down in the area.
