A boy, possibly in his early teens, was fatally shot in Compton on Tuesday night, authorities said.
The shooting occurred in the 1300 block of Chester Avenue (map) at 6:10 p.m., said Deputy Mark Pope.
The victim was declared dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives were sent to investigate the circumstances of the killing.
