A 55-year-old man suffered minor smoke inhalation in a fire that tore through a two-story single-family home in the Boyle Heights area wednesday night.
The fire at 1519 Pleasant Ave. was reported at 5:11 p.m., according to Greg Acevedo of the Los Angeles Fire Department. About 150 firefighters
responded to the scene and knocked down the fire in about a half-hour.
As many as five ambulances were also sent to the scene, but only the 55-year-old man was hospitalized, Acevedo said. A damage estimate was not immediately available.
