4 Boys Arrested in Multi-County String of Robberies

The boys are suspected of taking their parents' cars and robbing victims in Riverside and San Bernardino counties.

Four boys suspected of carrying out a series of robberies in Riverside and three cities in San Bernardino County were arrested and booked into juvenile hall.

The four are suspected of taking their parents' cars and robbing victims on Sunday and Monday at three locations in Riverside -- the 1400 block of Salmon River Road, near Massachusetts Avenue and Turquoise Street and at Luther Street and Palm Avenue, close to the Nordstrom Rack at the Riverside Plaza, the Riverside Police Department said Friday.

The group is accused of using three vehicles in the crime spree -- a dark blue 2006 BMW 325i, silver 2000 Infiniti I30 and a green 2010 Kia Soul, police said.

Detectives quickly learned the same suspects were being sought by the Fontana Police Department for robberies in their city, as well as in Ontario and Montclair, police said.

Three of the boys were arrested Tuesday, the fourth on Wednesday. It is believed the four carried out at least 10 robberies since July 23 in the two counties, police said.

Anyone with information regarding the robberies that occurred in Riverside is asked to call Detective Brett Stennett at 951-353-7213. Anyone with information regarding the crimes in Fontana is asked to call police at 909-350-7740.
