A helicopter makes a water drop on a brush fire burning in Castaic near the 5 Freeway on Saturday, June 13, 2015.

Lanes in both directions of the 5 Freeway in Castaic reopened after smoke from a fast-spreading fire forced closures at Lake Hughes Road, the California Highway Patrol said.

The 32-acre brush fire, which burned along the freeway, was reported at 2:38 p.m. Saturday near the lower crossover, according to the CHP.

The blaze was fully contained about three hours later, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

More than 100 firefighters battled the blaze from the ground and air.
