Shut Down by Brush Fire, Part of 215/10 Interchange Reopens

The interchange was closed for about an hour

Part of a freeway interchange near San Bernardino was shuttered for about an hour Friday afternoon due to a brush fire.

Caltrans officials said just before 4 p.m. on Twitter that the westbound 10 Freeway to the northbound 215 Freeway was closed.

Nearby Waterman Avenue on- and off-ramps (map) from the 10 Freeway were also closed, Caltrans tweeted.

"Low visibility and traffic is beginning to back up," the agency said.

An hour later, Caltrans tweeted that the interchange had been reopened.

No other details on the fire were immediately available.
