Here's the 411 on the 405 Freeway closure from NBC4

The San Diego (405) Freeway will be closed in both directions this weekend for demolition of the Mulholland Drive Bridge as part of the Sepulveda Pass improvement project.

Here are the basics:

When: Saturday and Sunday, 24 hours each day. On-ramps and lane closures will begin at 7 p.m. Friday. The freeway will reopen Monday at 5 a.m. Ramps and connectors will reopen by 6 a.m.

Where: The northbound 405 Freeway will be closed from the Santa Monica (10) Freeway to the Ventura (101) Freeway. Southbound lanes will be closed from the 101 Freeway to the Getty ramps.

Why: The freeway widening project along a 10-mile stretch of the 405 Freeway requires demolition of the Mulholland Drive Bridge. The north side of the bridge will be reconstructed during the next 12 months.
