8-Year-Old Girl Races Home After Man in Car Exposes Self, Demands She Get in Vehicle

The child, who was walking home from Knox Elementary School in South Los Angeles when the incident occurred, has since been too scared to go back to school.

Police are warning parents of a predator in South Los Angeles after an 8-year-old girl raced home when a man in vehicle exposed himself to her and demanded she get in his vehicle.

The child’s arrival, and the vehicle the predator was in, was caught on her home surveillance camera. The girl’s family posted the video on Facebook in an effort to warn parents and to seek help in identifying the man.

“She came home safe because the gate wasn’t locked. Thank God she’s OK,” her grandfather said.

According to the child, who has since been too scared to go back to school, the man is believed to be in his 50s or 60s. He was driving a white sedan.

“He was playing with his penis and asked her to come into the car,” the child’s grandfather said.

The 8-year-old girl was walking home from Knox Elementary School when the exposure happened. After she kept walking following the incident, the man began to drive behind her and told her to get in the car.

Knox Elementary School’s principal explained the incident in a letter to parents and guardians, but some have reported that they never received it.

“I feel that the principal should have given it to an adult, not a child,” one parent said. “A lot of parents don’t check their child’s backpacks."
