Bomb Squad Responds to Courthouse in Santa Ana After Bomb Threat Call

The courthouses and streets were reopened after a search of the area

Authorities closed streets and conducted a sweep of the area near the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana after a caller reported a bomb threat.

The phoned threat came from a call box on the side of the 60 Freeway in Riverside County, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department. Deputies completed a sweep of the courthouses about an hour after the call and found nothing to substantiate the report, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

All five Orange County Superior Court buildings were part of the sweep, described as a precautionary measure.

"Nothing significant located," the OC Sheriff's Department tweeted.

Civic Center Drive was closed near Flower Street during the investigation.
