Close But No Cigar: Santa Monica Lottery Player Misses Big Win

A lottery ticket worth $1.2 million was sold in Santa Monica, and the manager of a liquor store on Pico Boulevard in Santa Monica said Sunday it was his customer who has the prize.

The ticket had five winning numbers, but missed the sixth Powerball number, in the nationwide game.

The winning numbers were 22, 57, 59, 60 and 66, which were on the ticket sold at Ed's Liquor, on Pico near Lincoln Boulevard. But it missed the Powerball number: 7.

Some person in Pennsylvania scored the big win, and got all six numbers right. That jackpot was $456.7 million, and was the eighth largest jackpot in Powerball history.
