More Possible Victims Feared After Celebrity Artist Arrested on Suspicion of Rape

A celebrity artist has been arrested on suspicion of raping a woman at a Beverly Hills hotel, and detectives believe there may be more victims.

Jack Armstrong, 56, of Palm Springs, was taken into custody Nov. 21 in Eagle Rock, according to the Beverly Hills Police Department.

Investigators said the self-described “cosmic artist” attacked a woman in a Beverly Hills hotel three years ago.

"Her allegation is, she met Jack Armstrong at bar in West Hollywood. He befriended her, explained his celebrity lifestyle, him being an artist. They had a few drinks," said Sgt. Max Subin, with the Beverly Hills Police Department.

Investigators said years of search warrants and forensics support the woman’s account.

"She woke up in the morning, didn't feel right and realized she might have been sexually assaulted," Subin said.

Armstrong left jail on Sunday after posting a $110,000 bail, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department inmate locator website.

Armstrong can be seen in a YouTube clip talking about fame and his own works of art. He calls himself a “cosmic artist” and said his painted with Andy Warhol from 1979 to 1987.

“My paintings start at $300,000, go to 6 million,” he said.

Subin said investigators are looking for others who may have been allegedly “seduced” by the artist.
