County to Go Door to Door Checking for Dog Licenses

If Rover isn't licensed, now may be a good time to get one.

The LA County Department of Animal Care and Control will be going door to door to check that pet owners have their dogs properly licensed.

A team of three uniformed officers will canvas neighborhoods between 8:30am and 3:30pm in West Hollywood starting January 4.

The County said the spot checks are designed to make sure pets have been vaccinated against rabies.

California law requires all dogs over the age of four months be licensed. License fees vary from city to city but average around $20 according to the department's website.
