Mourners Pay Respects to Slain Father of 2

A 33-year-old man was found dead from a gunshot wound at a wireless cellphone store in Van Nuys on Friday

Customers laid candles and flowers in front of a wireless cell phone store Monday in Van Nuys honoring a father of two who was found dead in the office.

Kenny Jermaine Fulks-Jackson, 33, died from a gunshot wound in a suspected robbery, Los Angeles police said.

Police are reviewing security footage from nearby businesses, and are processing evidence found at the scene with the hope of finding the person or people responsible.

The assailant stole cash from the register, cell phones and other inventory, totaling $10,000 in value, the victim's wife said.

The family, shaken by Fulks-Jackson’s death, told NBC4 that the customers set up the makeshift memorial in the front of the store.

An 11-year-old girl from the neighborhood delivered a card to the family to express her sadness, and told the family she would miss Kenny.

Employees called Fulks-Jackson’s family when they could not open the door of the 405 Wireless shop in the 15200 block of Saticoy Street.
