Lanes were reopened early Sunday after an investigation into a wrong way crash left three people dead on State Route 126, just miles from Valencia, officials said.
The head-on crash was reported around 1:30 a.m. on CA State Route 126 in Piru, California Highway Patrol said. The crash is roughly 10 miles west of the 5 Freeway in Valencia.
Ventura County Fire Department confirmed that three people were dead but did not have information on additional injuries.
Circumstances leading up to the fatal crash was under investigation, CHP officials said. At least one vehicle overturned.
CHP has shut down all lanes on the westbound 126 at Camulous Ranch and has the eastbound 126 lanes alternating traffic until further notice.
