Delish Days at Pebble Beach Food & Wine

The lauded vittle-tacular returns to the spectacular bit of coastline for eats, demos, hobnobbing.

"MORE THAN 50 CULINARY CELEBRATIONS": If you've ever had that moment when you're hankering for a sandwich, or a stew, but you can't find a restaurant nearby, and you don't have the makings at home, you know what it is to feel a certain sense of... underwhelm-a-tude. The opposite of that not-so-great state of being? Attending a foodie event that stretches over a full-to-bursting four-day window, one that boasts dozens of to-dos around some of the finest dining to be found. Pebble Beach Food & Wine is that very event, and that vittle-packed window is just ahead, from Thursday, April 5 through Sunday, April 8. That this acclaimed food- and sip-oriented gathering always arrives at the start of springtime, a season of all-out fecundity, is a satisfying fit. That it happens in pretty Pebble Beach further heightens the senses. That you'll want to plan your edible-fun adventure, before Pebble-Beach-ing it, is a really solid idea.

HAPPY 11th, PBFW: Pebble Beach Resorts is the place for "... interactive cooking demonstrations, rare wine tastings, epic culinary collaborations, musical performances, intimate dinners, outdoor grilling and taco events, and the most luxurious Lexus Grand Tasting tent in the country." Who is showing? This almost might be a wry "who isn't?" situation, for over 120 chefs'll be in the house, or, rather, around the PB and its elegant environs. Some 250 wine pros, too, will be there, meaning this is as much a libation celebration as what we place on a plate. Some of the events include Aloha! Historic Hawaiian Cuisine, Mac n' Cheese — Wine and More Cheese, and The Future Is Female — The Next Generation of American Wine. Find your ticket or tickets, as in plural, as in you'll want to stay busy while flitting about all of these food-mazing haps? This is where to go for those. Then go to Pebble Beach, in early spring, for what is unquibble-bly one of our country's great cuisine-centric meet-ups.
