A suspected stolen vehicle police pursuit in Playa Del Rey Saturday featured a man driving on the beach and jumping in the water before being arrested, authorities said.
The pursuit of the suspected stolen vehicle occurred around 7:30 p.m., the Los Angeles Police Department said.
While driving on the beach, the man's vehicle appeared to get stuck in the sand. The man proceeded to exit the vehicle with his arms raised appearing ready to surrender, before slowly making his way into the water.
After the man had a short swim, officers managed to grab the man in the water and pull him to the sand.
The man was arrested and the pursuit ended near Tower 47 on Dockweiler Beach, the LAPD said.
