Donations Sought for Officer's Family

Fellow officers are seeking donations for the wife and two young daughters of an LAPD officer killed in an accident Friday while on duty.

The Los Angeles Police Federal Credit Union opened the account for anyone wishing to donate to the trust for Officer Nicholas Choung Lee, 40, who died when the patrol vehicle he was in collided with a dump truck at Loma Vista Driver near Doheny Road.

The 16-year veteran received over 70 commendations during his time with the department.

Donations can be made through PATROL Online Banking at 877-695-2732. Users are asked to enter account number 2030077 S4.84 and BLU.

A female probationary officer was riding with Lee at the time of the crash. The unnamed officer suffered injuries but was released from the hospital on Saturday evening.

She asked that attention be placed on remembering the fallen veteran officer.
