Emmys Expected to Slow Traffic in Downtown LA

The 66th Emmy Awards show kicks off at 5 p.m. Monday at the Nokia Theatre, and officials say traffic in the downtown area will be slammed.

Closures begin at 2 p.m.; the same time that red carpet programing begins.

Officials warn that traffic will be heavy on freeways surrounding the venue, including the 10, 101, and 110 Freeways.

Chick Hearn Court will be shut down between L.A. Live Way and Hope Street.
Officials warned that the following streets would be the most impacted from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.:

• Pico Boulevard
• Olympic Boulevard
• 8th Street
• 9th Street
• 11th Street
• 12th Street
• Flower Street
• Union Street
• Figueroa Street
