Family Pleads With Public To Help Find Killer of Decapitated Man

Last Thursday, paramedics found 75-year-old Robert Hollis dead, decapitated and his family said Wednesday, his head was still missing.

The family of a man whose decapitated body was found in a Inglewood apartment last week spoke out for the first time Wednesday pleading for the public to help catch his killer.

"We have searched ourselves and conversed over and over and over again and we cannot find anything in his life that would connect him to the tragic way in which he passed," said his ex-wife, Norma Hollis.

The headless body of 75-year-old Robert Hollis was discovered by his son last Thursday. As of Wednesday, Hollis' head was still missing.

"There's nothing in his life, in his history that would make him a target, except that he was an elderly man," his ex-wife said.

She was married to the victim for 26 years and said his vision deteriorated, leaving him vulnerable to predators.

"He had no vision in his right eye, his left eye vision was a small tunnel which was 20/20 when you can get to it, so he was able to text but he couldn't see who was around him, he couldn't put his hand out to shake," she said.

Inglewood police have kept silent since the case broke: no leads, no witnesses and still no comment, leaving the Hollis family begging for help.

"There are very few leads, but someone knows the lead that leads to the resolution of this case," said Bishop Kenneth Ulmer from the Faithful Central Bible Church.

The family said they are thankful for the outpouring of support from the public.

A $50,000 reward is poised for approval by the Inglewood City Council on Tuesday.
