Deputies said they then got a call at about 6 a.m. of a reported stabbing on Webster Avenue, about a block from the shooting scene. Upon arrival, authorities found a man suffering from stab wounds. He was taken to a hospital and was expected to survive.

Authorities said they shot at the man who they say was holding an object they did not identify.

"I was getting out of the way of the line of wire," a witness who did not want to be identified said. "He was running toward me as I was passing the boulevard and I heard as I was passing the gunshots go off."
