Fire at Pico Rivera Strip Mall

Several businesses were red-tagged after a strip mall fire in Pico Rivera. Rick Montanez reports for the NBC4 News at Noon on Tuesday Oct. 6, 2015. (Published Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015)

Businesses were deemed unsafe to enter Tuesday after an early morning fire burned a Pico Rivera strip mall.

The two-alarm fire was reported around 4:23 a.m. in the 4500 block of Rosemead Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Four of six stores at the strip mall were red-tagged, meaning they are not safe to enter.

It was unknown where the fire originated, firefighters said. The fire is not considered suspicious, fire investigators said Tuesday morning.

"It was a very labor intesnive fire due to the age of the building and type of structure," said Los Angeles County Fire Department Deputy Chief David Richardson.

    No injuries were reported.
