Firefighters Douse Brush Fire That Caused Evacuations in Palmdale

About 150 firefighters Monday knocked in a little more than an hour a brush fire that briefly threatened homes in the Palmdale area, prompting evacuations.

The fire at 39055 N. 25th Street West was reported at 5:41 p.m., a county fire department dispatcher said.

The fire was three acres at the time of response, but it had grown to 10 acres by the time it was knocked down.

Because the fire was growing so rapidly, a call was put out for more firefighters and evacuations. It was knocked down at 6:50 p.m.
