Firefighters Investigate Smoke at Disneyland

Smoke came from a storage shed behind "It's a Small World," officials said

Firefighting units from Disneyland and a single unit from Anaheim were activated today when smoke began wafting from a storage facility at the park, an Anaheim Fire Department supervisor said.

The smoke was seen coming from a commercial storage facility on a Disney backlot. It was reported at 1:26 a.m., the supervisor said, adding that light smoke was visible at the scene but the Anaheim unit was not needed.

"There was no fire, it was just smoke," another fire department official said.

The smoke appeared to be coming from a large storage facility at the Disneyland backlot, behind the "It's a Small World" attraction, a news photographer reported from the scene.

Two Disney firefighting units were still at the scene, off the 1000 block of West Ball Road, 50 minutes after the first call, he said.
