One Dead, One Injured in Fontana Industrial Accident

The man was killed when a high-tension cable snapped at the Fontana work site, fire officials said

One worker was killed and another was injured Monday morning in an industrial accident at a utility vault company in Fontana.

A high-tension wire was being coiled when it snapped, killing a man in his 40s, fire officials said. A man in his 20s was injured, but details regarding his condition were not immediately available.

The Fontana Fire Department received the report at 7:18 a.m. from the business -- OldCastle Precast -- in the 10600 block of Hemlock Avenue.

Family members told NBC4 the victim is a married father of two daughters.

Cal-OSHA investigators remained at the location Monday afternoon.
