A Garden Grove man was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for sexually assaulting a 2-year-old girl several times over nearly a year, a prosecutor said Monday.
Joseph Michael Hishmeh, 25, had faced a maximum of 46 years to life behind bars, said Deputy District Attorney Bobby Taghavi.
Hismeh, who was sentenced on Friday, was convicted in June of two counts of sexual penetration with a child younger than 10 and five felony counts of lewd acts on a child younger than 14.
Hishmeh was an acquaintance of the girl's family, Taghavi said. The molestation happened between April 2014 through February 2015, the prosecutor said.
