OC Band Director Charged With Sexual Assault of Teen: Sheriff

Incident allegedly happened during the summer of 2006, according to LASD

A high school assistant band instructor from Diamond Bar has been charged with the alleged sexual assault of a teen, the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department announced Wednesday.

Albert Anthony Morales, 33, allegedly sexually assaulted a 16-year-old female student during his time as a high school assistant band instructor at Sunny Hills High School in Fullerton during the summer of 2006, according to the department. The student is now 22 years old.

Morales was arrested Monday and charged with oral copulation with a person under 16 years old, according to the department.

He is currently being held in lieu of $350,000 at Walnut Sheriff's Station.

Morales has been a percussion instructor for 13 years in Los Angeles and Orange counties. He has taught or volunteered at Diamond Bar High School from 1998 to 2000, Sunny Hills High School from 2004 to 2009, and Diamond Ranch High School from 2012 to 2013.
