K9 Finds Prowler Hiding in Bushes After Homeowner Opens Fire

A homeowner opened fire a man who attempted to break into his home overnight Monday in the northern San Fernando Valley, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The prowler reports was received at about 1 a.m. in the 10600 block of Tamarack Avenue in Pacoima. A resident saw the man near the home's front porch and scuffled with the man before another resident fired at least two rounds, police said.

The subject ran, leading to a brief search of the neighborhood before a police dog and handler found him hiding in bushes.

The subject was not struck by gunfire, police said. He was booked on suspicion of attempted residential burglary, police said.
