Powerball Ticket Sold “in Taft of All Places” Matches 5 of 6 Winning Numbers

The jackpot winning ticket was sold in Florida, but two tickets worth more than $2 million were sold in California

Two Powerball tickets purchased in California -- one at a convenience store in Kern County -- matched five of six winning numbers in the weekend's $590 million drawing.

The tickets matched all five of the regular numbers: 10-13-14-22-52, but failed to match the needed sixth winning number of 11. That means, instead of winning $590 million, the ticket is worth $2.3 million.

The jackpot winning ticket was sold in Florida. The person who purchased the ticket had yet to come forward Monday morning.

One of the two tickets with five matching numbers was sold in Taft, about 120 miles north of Los Angeles. The ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven on 6th Street.

"In Taft of all places, right? Kern County, Taft, nothing really happens in Taft so it's exciting news," Patty Soles, a Powerball player who buys tickets at the store, told KGET-TV.

Another ticket sold at the 7-Eleven at 2440 Almaden Expressway in San Jose.

That winner also has yet to come forward.

California joined the multi-state Powerball game in December.
