Kids 12 and Under Ski Free at June Mountain

The snow is back and the prices are nice at the mountain-fun destination.

COMBING THE WEATHER SITES... and tuning in for the forecast segments and staring at the clouds and holding a fingertip to the wind? A whole lot of Golden State skiers participate in such activities come January, which can be among the snowiest and coldest of months. But there's been more fingertip-wind-holding, and weather-site-combing, in the first month of 2018, as the temperatures have stayed on the warmer side and the snowfall on the lighter end of the spectrum. But that's set to change over the third weekend of January, as a new system says hello to the Sierra Nevada, and the mountains of Southern California, inspiring people to eagerly break out their poles and boards and goggles and gear. If you're doing just that, and you're eager to do some Sierra-style schussing, and you also like saving funds, consider this: June Mountain, which is not too far from Mammoth Mountain, and not too far from the pretty town of June Lake, has a standing offer which is mighty nice for those families that ski en masse. And that deal?

KIDS AGES 12 AND UNDER... ski and ride for free. That is clear and concise and straightforward and, hey, where'd you go? Oh, you're packing the car already? Okay. But but but before you drive for the slopes, keep in mind that kids'll "...still need a lift ticket" and that the "(f)ree child tickets must be acquired at the June Mountain Ticket Office with proof of age." As for what's happening on Jan. 19, 2018, on the mountain? It's a "powder day" with a season total of 34 inches. For all the conditions you need to know, step away, briefly, from the minute-by-minute weather updates and check out the snow scene at JM.
