LA Animal Services Asks People to Foster Pets as Wildfires Cause Overcrowding

Los Angeles Animal Services asked the public Tuesday to consider adopting or fostering pets in order to make room at its shelters for animals that have been displaced by recent wildfires.

"We need your help making life-saving space at our centers by adopting or fostering pets," according to an LAAS statement. "Foster volunteers are life-savers."

People can volunteer to foster a pet by printing an application at http://bit.ly/LAASFostering or by going to the nearest Animal Services center.

To find a city Animal Services Center, people can visit www.laanimalservices.com/shelter-locator/.

All six Los Angeles City Animal Services Centers are open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
