Power Restores to 1,500+ Customers in Granada Hills

Nearly 1,500 customers were without power in Granada Hills Thursday evening as temperatures in the area hovered around 95 degrees.

The outage affecting at least 1,497 customers lasted about three hours, according to Los Angeles Department of Water and Power’s online outage tracker.

Officials did not immediately know what caused the outage, and they did not have a perimeter of the outage.

Another massive power outage hit Los Angeles Thursday as the region braced for a dangerous heat wave.

Electricity was cut to some 1,700 DWP customers in the Hollywood Hills Thursday morning. Power was restored to the neighborhood Thursday night, some 15 hours after it went out.

LA DWP does not believe either outage was heat-related.
