LA Kings Open Ice Rink in Woodland Hills

The Los Angeles Kings hockey team opened the first of five ice skating rinks across the Southland on Saturday in Woodland Hills.

The holiday season has begun.

The Los Angeles Kings continue to make their mark on Southern California and this year, the two-time Stanley Cup Champions are doing it with outdoor ice skating rinks all across the Southland.

On Saturday, the first of five special outdoor ice rinks opened up at the new Westfield Topanga Mall (6100 Topanga Canyon Blvd) in Woodland Hills.

Members of the Kings front office, their in-game ice crew and mascot Bailey, were all on hand for a ribbon cutting ceremony as kids — many of whom were dressed in Kings jerseys — skated on the ice with their friends and family.

The Kings will open four more locations in Los Angeles over the next few weeks with rinks set to open in Long Beach on Nov. 18, the port of San Pedro on Nov. 19, LA Live in downtown across from Staples Center on Nov. 26 and in Redondo Beach on Nov. 28.
